KidsTek (Ad2 Denver Public Service Campaign)

Contributing to Ad2 Denver’s annual Public Service Campaign, b.todd | creative principal Brad Todd donated his talent to the pro bono project, featuring top young professionals from the Denver advertising and marketing industry. KidsTek was chosen as the not-for-profit client, and we were tasked to rebrand the organization amongst other initiatives.

KidsTek is a Denver based NFP that provides computer education and training to underserved youths around the city. They run programs in several schools and work with students from K-12.

KidsTek’s old identity was too “childish” and the color palette was rather dated. They needed something that spoke technology, resonated well from adolescents to teens and lastly inspired their students to reach higher. It also needed to engage potential donors. After teaming up with some talented people and developing over a dozen concepts collectively, Brad’s submitted design was chosen by KidsTek as their new identity. Brad also designed a print ad campaign for the project.

Construction & Development Advisors

Project Description

It’s not normal to rebrand a company only a few months after launching, that is the case with this project. Only a after a few months of operating, our client Goulding Development Services partnered with another construction company and GDA was absorbed. A new company was formed to operate in the same function as the old GDA entity.

What started as a simple change out the name and slightly modify colors type of project eventual turned into an additional brand discovery process. We quickly realized that the current logo did not fit the needs of the brand. Although the imagery remained, we revised the look and feel into a more straight forward and professional identity approach.

AlexOrganize

AlexOrganize is Alex Kuisis, a professional organizer and consultant. She specializes in residential and office organizing services around the Metro Denver area. As AlexOrganize has grown, her need for a consistent visual identity has grown with it. Alex came to b.todd with a solid brand position, but needed our expertise to execute the design into a usable system that captured a sense of neatness and organization along with Alex’s personality, since she offers a personalized touch to her work.

Nova Insights

Project Description

Nova Insights is a consultancy that helps health care providers secure government contracts. Their aim is to help their clientele win proposals by bringing new thinking and ideas to the industry. The government health care contracting environment tends to be static and “inside the box”, so Nova Insights has worked to build their brand positioning upon the idea of providing new perspectives. b.todd was tasked with bringing out this idea into a progressive and appealing visual identity. We focused on the idea of new perspectives revealing new ideas and changing a perspective to find these. We thoroughly analyzed the market and Nova’s direct competition and developed a logo that both stands out from the rest and communicates progressive thought.

We then implemented Nova Insights brand identity into a simple web design, utilizing and reenforcing visual brand elements into a colorful website that stands out from their competitors. We utilized an easy portal layout to take visitors directly into Nova’s service offerings.

Avenir Consulting

Project Description

Avenir Consulting is a business development consultancy that outsources sales and marketing campaigns specifically for professional service firms. Ready to launch and needing to hit the ground running, Avenir tasked b.todd to develop their entire brand design system and collateral, including brochure, sell sheets, letterhead, website and tradeshow banners. With most of their strategic branding complete and a logo already designed, we helped visually translate Avenir’s brand positioning and value proposition of “Cultivating Growth. Delivering Results.” and implement a cohesive brand identity system specifically geared to their target market.

Goulding Development Advisors

Project Description

Goulding Development came to us to develop their visual identity and brand from the ground up. Lacking even a name at the inception of the project, we worked through an intense and thorough naming process, examining what was being done in the project management and development consultation industry along with company president Todd Goulding’s strongest personal identifiers within his own network. Ultimately concluding that Mr. Goulding’s name was the strongest brand identifier, we choose Goulding Development Advisors and began working with the tagline “Building Solutions” as the cornerstone of the company’s brand development.

They ultimately wanted to communicate that tagline along with the theme of helping their clients choose the “right path to the top” as their consultation and project management services will assist their clients in completing development projects in the most timely and cost effective manner possible. We explored a literal translation of the concept using simple, flowing lines to create the mountain silhouette and coupled it with a strong color palette that reinforces confidence and expertise.

Beecher Development Services

Project Description

Beecher Development Services is a new company that offers owner representation services, project management, construction management and sustainable design consultation. They wanted their new identity to be simple and clean, yet be very geometric in design. BDS offered the challenge to us to try and design a logo and identity within these guidelines while also incorporating the golden ratio. The logo mark was built using a true perspective grid and a geometric typeface was chosen to compliment the mark. We then combined the two pieces to be golden ration proportionate.

Orchard Life Finance

Project Description

Orchard Life Finance approached us to re-brand the company image. The owner had recently parted ways with a business partner who had shared ownership in a parent company. The client wanted a fresh look that differentiated him from the past company but at the same time wanted to stay recognizable to the current client base.

The old company also included “Orchard” in the name and we needed to find a new way to creatively express the company name in the new logo other than using a tree, which the old logo incorporated. Orchard Life Finance specializes in assisting advisers and their clients with premium finance life insurance plans in maintaining their policies and relationships with the financiers, so we wanted to visualize a value of trust within the mark. Ultimately, a depiction of a branch supporting an piece of fruit was chosen to accomplish both the literal visualization of the company name and their brand of trust and support offered to their clients.
